Kintamani is a district (kecamatan), and a village within that district, on the western edge of the larger caldera wall of the Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) caldera. This is a place that has all the factors needed for that perfect coffee production process, including a highly favorable climate and rich volcanic soil.

Kintamani Coffee has a Certificate of Intellectual Property Rights with Geographical Indications. This means that Kintamani Coffee is the first to get an IPR certificate with a Geographical Indication. Arabica coffee that grows in the Kintamani tourist area has advantages that are recognized by international consumers, including its distinctive taste, resistance to pests, dense fruit and high productivity. Red logs are picked manually and selected carefully with a percentage of red logs 95%. 

The strictness of customary rules is a moral law that has been passed down from generation to generation, so that no farmer dares to break it. Even the Arabica coffee harvested by farmers in Kintamani District is also processed properly to produce export quality coffee and is able to penetrate a number of foreign markets. With the development of this leading commodity area, it is hoped that the potential for natural resources, human resources and the use of machine tool assets, including the utilization of plant resources, are expected to be better managed.
